Opadry® Enteric Coating System

Opadry Enteric is a platform of fully formulated delayed release coating systems from Colorcon®, suitable for application by organic or hydro-alcoholic processing techniques. Specific Opadry Enteric coating series have been developed from a variety of enteric polymers including the “91 series” which uses Polyvinyl Acetate Phthalate (Phthalavin® enteric coating polymer, PVAP). The entire Opadry Enteric platform, are powder coating systems that allow for rapid reconstitution and application with many types of coating equipment, including conventional pans.

Formulations are available in white, clear and color-matched dry powder options that come with a batch-to-batch color guarantee and require no color adjustment. Films produced from Opadry Enteric are elegant, glossy and exhibit excellent gastro-resistance. Enteric protection can be achieved at low coating weight gain (5-7%), potentially providing time and cost savings in a manufacturing environment, and hydro-alcoholic or organic processing can protect moisture sensitive substrates.
