Acryl-EZE® Aqueous Acrylic Enteric System

Delayed release oral solid dosage forms are widely manufactured with enteric coatings available from a number of companies, but the Acryl-EZE platform of delayed release products are revolutionary one-step enteric coating systems available exclusively from Colorcon. Unlike other film coating products, Acryl-EZE is a platform of optimized, pigmented, aqueous acrylic coating systems that combines the benefits of a fully formulated coating system with the features and performance of a globally accepted enteric polymer (Eudragit L100-55).

These fully formulated systems are simple to dispense and are dispersible in water within 30 minutes, for the application of a delayed release film coating to various solid dosage forms such as tablets, granules and beads. The coating meets quality requirements and is easy to clean up, both of which offers significant time savings in development, as well as in production. Acryl-EZE systems also provide consistent, reliable and reproducible performance results using existing coating equipment and simple coating procedures that follow conventional processes.

The platform of Acryl-EZE products provides delayed release capability for tablets, as well as multi-particulates while providing enteric protection in traditional and elevated gastric pH environments within the stomach. They are manufactured to be applicable for a wide range of oral solid dosage forms with the enteric polymer protecting against acid media and solubilizing at pH 5.5. They can be color-matched to meet marketing requirements or custom color formulated on demand. With an expanded color pallet, Acryl-EZE offers new opportunities for brand differentiation and enhancement, with the simplest available enteric coating system in the market today.
