Direct and Indirect Food Contact Ink

Serving the world’s non-toxic printing ink needs since 1961, Colorcon No-Tox® Products Division sets the standard for FDA compliant packaging inks and coatings. All Colorcon products are manufactured from FDA approved components in the only dedicated printing ink facility in the world. Guaranteed in writing, these products are used exclusively on printing applications for direct and indirect contact with food, medical or pharmaceutical products.

Our No-Tox® inks and coatings are ideal for packaging, promotional inserts, labels and printed coupons that directly contact food and confectionery surfaces. Our products offer high quality printing while ensuring full compliance with all current FDA regulations for indirect and direct food contact ink applications. Blister packs, cartons, lidding stock and pouches are examples of the medical and pharmaceutical packaging media that employ our products.

Our direct food contact inks and indirect food contact inks are custom-made for each project. We analyze each application to determine key resistance properties, such as moisture, grease and fat, and whether color bleed and abrasion are concerns. Odor and taste are among the other factors taken into account.

Colorcon regulated inks and coatings are the safest, most contaminant-free products in the industry. Due to our regulatory expertise and high manufacturing standards, many leading ink companies outsource their direct and indirect food contact ink projects to Colorcon.
