2010 Ault Award Winner - Michael Gettis of ColorCon No-Tox Products

During his 44 year career, Mike Gettis' goal has been to develop the best printing inks in the market coupled with the will and readiness to accommodate and implement his customers’ desires for specialty ink products.
After attending college our friend began his career in the printing ink industry in 1966 as a chemical operator. He was promoted through the ranks to Production Manager, Plant Manager and then Marketing Manager. When his company was acquired in 1980 his role changed to Technical Sales Representative. This career change from operations to marketing and then to sales helped provide the background he would need to take on the task of moving the specialty ink company forward.

Throughout his career he has provided field support to printers and has authored ink regulatory articles for several industry publications. He has contributed towards the development of new ink technologies for the FDA compliance in edible and direct food contact inks along with coatings possessing antimicrobial properties.
A long time supporter of both NAPIM and NPIRI, our friend strongly supports his company’s participation of in our functions and he himself has served on the NAPIM Board as Treasurer, Vice President and President. He takes pride in the opportunity to promote the benefits of NAPIM membership and is an advocate for new projects which will enhance and further develop the direction of our organization.
